As Maternal Mental Health Week comes to a close, I feel compelled to share a piece of my journey that I’ve kept mostly private—my greatest fear during my pregnancy after loss— in order to help raise awareness. This is #RealMotherhood, and there is #NoShame. Photo by Katie Donovan I’ve suffered from mental illness [...]
I am woefully behind on posting here at Meek Manor. I've been busy with behind-the-scenes "stuff" over at Pregnancy After Loss Support, including redesigning the website. It's an exciting time, and some of my personal writing and crafty blogging has had to be set aside for a bit. But, next week I post my new articles at PALS, so I thought maybe I should share July's before August's are ready to go!
I just created a new batch of pregnancy after loss (PAL) affirmation prints. While I wait for them to arrive from the printer, I thought I'd offer a free download of my Trying to Conceive After Loss Statement Print. I personally have this print posted above my nightstand and read it frequently as a reminder [...]
Apparently, I haven't posted my monthly articles from Pregnancy After Loss Support (PALS) since March. Oops. We'll catch up today!
Last week my monthly articles posted at Pregnancy After Loss Support.
March is Pregnancy After Loss Awareness month, and Pregnancy After Loss Support magazine ran a campaign, including a photo challenge for the week of March 9-16. I helped organize this event and wanted to gather all of my images and thoughts to share once it was complete.
Last week was a busy writing week! My two monthly articles posted at Pregnancy After Loss Support. I also wrote a PAL Love Letter for the second annual series (which I helped organize), also at Pregnancy After Loss Support.
My January articles posted at PALS last week. This month's journal article chronicled a TTC break for one cycle, and how I seemed to see rainbows everywhere I went-- TTC After Loss: Rainbows Everywhere. For my How I Cope article, I took a break from my typical format of focusing on one or two skills and [...]
My December articles posted at PALS last week. This month's journal article chronicled our fifth cycle after losing Patrick, which turned out to be quite the roller coaster of a month--TTC After Loss: A Month of Loss, Hope, and Loss. For my How I Cope article, I wrote about the importance of recognizing dialectics [...]
My November articles posted last week at PALS. This month's journal article chronicled our fourth cycle after losing Patrick and getting through Patrick's due date--Giving Space for Grief While TTC After Loss. For my How I Cope article, I wrote about the importance of validation--both self and external validation--How I Cope: Validation. The article featured Angela [...]
