Day 15: COMMUNITY. As a wave of light makes its way around the world today, we take some time out to honour and remember our children. It is a day of remembrance and a day of awareness. What does this community mean to you? Where would you be without it? What would you like to see happen in the future for this community? Share your candles of light.
Community
We are so thankful for the loss community that we’ve found online. It certainly helps us feel less alone. It also gives us a place to share our story to help others. Our participation in the October 15th Wave of Light didn’t go as planned. Lloyd had to work late, and our candle didn’t get lit until Central Time (we live in Eastern). For us, though, it was far more important for us to light Patrick’s candle together. This, after all, is OUR journey. We’re working to capture your grief together this month. It hasn’t been easy. It hasn’t gone as planned. But, isn’t that how life goes? Even if we lit our candle late, we still appreciated being able to be part of something bigger than us, bigger than our story, bigger than our Patrick. We lit our candle in memory of all the precious ones lost too soon.
